Horse Stabling, Riding Lessons and More
Koko Crater Stables in Honolulu, Hawaii is a horse riding center for Hunter/Jumper athletes, young riders, and more. We have been serving the community since 1960.
Koko Crater Stables is one of several venues that host the Hawaii Horse Show Associations (HHSA) horse shows.
Our three-hour camps are the perfect blend of 'all-things-horse.' Camp students will learn about grooming, tacking, mucking, and riding. Our education programs focus on safety and proper care from which children can build on and become lifelong horse lovers.
Similar to our one-day camps, we take advantage of the long summer days to teach over several days.
We are fortunate to host visiting instructors from all over the US Mainland. Some of these previous instructors include:
- Sally Battan, Head Equestrian Coach, Dartmouth College
- Nick Karazissis, Far West Farms
- Frank Madden, Capital Hill Show Stables
- Nancy Free, Brass Ring Farm
Polo Clinics are often held in the off-season, please inquire.
Koko Crater Stables is pleased to make itself available for scheduled field trips at no cost. Donations are accepted but not required.
The field trip includes a tour of the barn, a brief education in horses, and horse behavior. We have hosted trips for all ages, from pre-school children to seniors. Some of our past visitors include:
- Kāhala Elementary School
- Waikīkī Elementary School
- Field Trip Friends, Pre-School Organization
- Hawaii Kai Senior, a Program for Seniors
